How can I buy a Habitat for Humanity car tag?

  • Visit your county tag office.  Bring your vehicle registration
        information with you.
        
  • Ask the clerk for a "Commitment to Purchase" form.  
        Indicate that you wish to purchase the Habitat for Humanity
        car tag. Tag type 79.
        
  • At this time, you will pay $50 for the cost of the tag.  Save
        your original proof of purchase receipt.
        
  • You will be contacted when tags are available.  You must
        bring your original proof of purchase receipt back to the tag
        office to pick up your new plate.

    Why should I purchase a Habitat for Humanity car tag?

  • Proceeds from sales help Habitat for Humanity affiliates
        provide low-income families with quality, affordable housing  
        across Alabama.
  • Enhances awareness of the need for affordable housing.
  • Long term visibility of Habitat's mission and purpose.

    GO GREEN! Quick! --- Why?

  • Habitat has to secure 1,000 commitments no later than May 31, 2007 in order for
        the Habitat car tag to be produced.
  • It's important that you visit your county tag office today!
  • Our goal is to have all 1,000 commitments by February 28, 2007. GO GREEN!
     

    How much does the Habitat for Humanity car tag cost, and will I be charged every year?

  • The Habitat for Humanity car tag is $50 and will cost $50    
        each year in which you renew your Habitat for Humanity tag.

    Does it cost extra to personalize my Habitat for Humanity car tag?

  • No.  You may personalize your tag at no additional cost up to
        five characters.  

    Can I purchase more than one tag?

  • Absolutely!  Habitat for Humanity encourages you to
        purchase tags for all of your vehicles.

    Can my company purchase Habitat tags for our fleet vehicles?

  • Yes!  All fleet vehicles must renew in November.  However, "Commitment to Purchase"
        forms can be completed at any time.

    Can I buy the Habitat for Humanity car tag online?

  • Commitments cannot be made online, you must personally
        visit your county tag office.
